HAPPY FIRST HALLOWEEN TO MY BABY AMARIS!
I knew she would spend the majority -if not all, of the evening in her stroller so I decided to make her stroller part of her costume. I came across a few pics of similar mouse trap costumes but the mouse trap was made of plywood and was attached to a small wagon. A wagon won’t fit in our car and I wanted to use something lighter than plywood so this is what I came up with. Would you believe me if I told you I only spent $12 to put this together? Here’s how:
Supplies:
- foam board from 99c store
- wood printed sheet vinyl from home depot (sold by the yard)
- black tape (I used gorilla tape but electrical tape or regular duct tape would have worked)
- red paint
- metal hose (I recycled one from our yard)
- mouse costume. (I found mine on offer up for $7!)
Step One:
Measure how the height and width you want your “trap” to be and cut foam board accordingly. Hot glue vinyl onto board.
Step 2:
Create a border with black tape. Duct tape rips easily so keeping the line straight was easy.
Step 3:
Trace the shape of the stroller’s snack tray/bar and cut with an exacto knife
Step 4:
Paint on the victor mouse trap logo using red paint.
Step 5:
Cut out holes to insert metal hose through. The hose will hold the “trap” in place (refer to bottom pic) and will act as the metal coil to a mouse trap.
*note how after we fit metal hose through the holes we wrapped it around the frame of the stroller to hold in place.
This costume was such a crowd pleaser. She was so warm and comfy. 🙂 Special thank you to my big-little sister for helping make my mouse dreams come true!
Thank you for reading! I’d love to see your version if you decide to give it a try!
You are so talented and such a loving Mother. These are memories you will always cherish.
Thank you sue! I try my best for that reason! To look back and have these memories 🙂
